Harimäe landscape. Otepää uplands
Weather like this cries out to us to go rambling in the forest: we are used to winter by now, a Christmas tree must be chosen and taken home, some other important reason can be found too of course, but sometimes some third, by no means unimportant cause turns up. You can see where the forest inhabitants have been busy, and whether someone has left fresh tracks on the untouched snow. The air in the forest is pure and amazingly fragrant.
How differently do herbivorous animals go about their doings on such days? Passerines tend to become stationary when there is wind, blizzard or snowfall. Predators and birds of prey move about more actively and are more likely to attack.
The forest always has a tale to tell.
