White-tailed eagle pair at nest

Video: Urmas Lett, Eenet.ee
Translation: Liis

In the video clip male eagle Sulev arrives at the nest.  The first thing to be checked is the presence of the green pine twig that he brought at the previous visit, as a family sign. Perhaps a snow shovel should have been brought along?

Most likely the female is Linda (she had rings on her legs but we haven’t seen the pair for more than one and a half year; in the plumage certainly age changes should be seen).

Linda arrived later, when Sulev already was struggling with getting some order in the nest with its snowdrift. Not only we watch the doings of the white-tailed eagles in the video; a magpie pair came to check things in place. You might say that Linda became at least a little engaged in the doings - or was it just out of politeness and respect for her mate?

When Linda left, Sulev’s home decoration zeal subsided. What fun is there to struggle alone – seems familiar, does it not? The recording is long but worth watching.

For those who have not yet seen it,  Sulev’s first nest visit on February 5th:

Very soon we will open the white-tailed eagle nest camera page.
