The start of the Alutaguse forest camera now is well justified: on March 19th a male brown bear left its prints on the camera site, print width 16 centimetres.

Regardless of the frosty weather bear prints have already been seen in all Estonia, in Soomaa as well as Alam-Pedja.

The Alutaguse forest camera site was prepared by Natourest and 360 Kraadi.

From the forest the signal goes by way of the Interline aerials to the Elisa mobile tower 8 kilometres away, and from there into the fibre-optic cables of Televõrgud. Televõrgud carry the original camera image to the EENet server where it is decoded and distributed to viewers.

The system in the forest is powered by solar panels that were moved to a sunnier site in autumn.
