In ordinary evenings Klaara slips out in the evening dusk to stretch her wings. On Saturday she had other things to do – at nine o’clock there was a fifth egg.

 

Klaara is quite fertile, usually tawny owls have three to four eggs in the clutch.

 

 

We have seen Klaus only rarely until now, just when a mouse has been brought for Klaara lying on the eggs.

In the image we only see Klaus’s tail, but when it comes to feeding the owlets we will be sure to see him more often. If everything works out nicely a large family will have to be fed.
