On Sunday, before the evening snowfall, there was a "compulsory arrival“ of lapwings in northern as well as north-western Estonia: along some tens of kilometres three groups of five to six individuals, and in addition some solitary birds. Urmas Sellis reported on Monday from Poland that there was the same deluge of snow as in Estonia, but here the brave birds are.
The road between Keila and Tallinn offered a nice view – on the road verge in the thawed-out withered grass lapwings, and on the snow, side by side with them, a flock of migrating snow buntings...
Snow buntings
