Drinker moth (Euthrix potatoria) caterpillar  09.04.2013
 
The sun has melted the snow from ditch banks and many other areas tilted towards the sun. And so the first drinker moth caterpillars have been thawed out from their wintering place – in the snow. On Tuesday I met two drinker moth caterpillars crawling on the snow. They still have to wait for a few weeks for the new grass blades to appear. Until then they enjoy the warm springtime sunshine.
