Warm weather was forecasted for previous weekend and also for current week. While in the city, the melting of dirty snow creates a sense of the spring, unusual winter is still prevalent on river meadows and the forests.

 

First warm days will not make the water in ditches to flow yet; thirty centimeters of snow is still covering the river meadows.

 

The web camera image is updated every few seconds at most, depending on the connection. It is quite sufficient for an overview. At the camera location, at Karukose on the bank of Raudna river, the marks of previous highest water levels can be seen on the measuring pole.

EMHI: Halliste river, Riisa hydrometric station. Water level.

Long-term (1930-2010) recorded water levels for the month:highest (red), average (green), and lowest (blue). Current recorded level: violet.

The EMHI Riisa station is a few kilometers downstream from the Raudna river mouth  along Halliste river, but reflects the water level in Soomaa quite well.
