Our tawny owl chicks were three weeks old on Monday – they seem to grow by the hours and not by days.

The smaller owlet uses somewhat “unsportsman-like means” to snatch the prey brought by the parents for itself, and the gobbling down of that big chunk was not easy.
The food need is large and both adults must hunt for prey, so we often see the owlets in the nest without the female.
