First black stork chick hatched tonight

At half past six the first chick of the black stork pair was hatched. Female Tiina was on the nest and male Tiit was not far away either, there was a „feeling in the air“. In the video Tiit has replaced Tiina’s place in the nest, removing the egg shells from the nest to the nest rim. For safety the eggshells cannot be thrown down from the nest. The experienced adult birds know what to do.
By eight o’clock the second stork chick had hatched too.
