Cornflower and wheat
This summer`s observation competition of the Nature Observations Database started on May 15. This time, we expect observations of 12 species of plants which lack adequate data about their distribution or whose numbers are believed to be decreasing.
Species for observations are cornflower, globe-flower, cat`s-foot, wild thyme, bird`s-eye primrose, twinflower, umbellate wintergreen, one-flowered wintergreen, viper`s-grass, mountain clover, sheep`s bit scabious and hybrid geum. Competition lasts until September 1 and its main purpose is to gather data about the distribution of the above-mentioned plant species.
Competition is being held in two categories: category of the total number of observations and category of the total number of species. There are prizes for the best. Winners will be announced in September.
