		Red-footed falcons

The bird race Estonian Open 2013 that took place on Saturday, August 17th, was very exciting.
The teams met interesting species in the race area: in Tartu County at Lake Lahepera there was a young red-footed falcon FALVES, near Haaslava a two-barred crossbill LOXLEU, at Mehikoorma a hoopoe UPUEPO, in Ilmatsalu a black kite MILMIG, at Järvselja a Tengmalm’s owl AEGFUN, in Kallaste at Lake Peipus an Arctic skua STECUS, and at Padakõrve a Terek sandpiper XENCIN was migrating. In the race area many migrating waders could also be seen.

The race was won by Estonian team RC & Co this year too, having met 139 bird species. Once more congratulations to them!
