Maple yellow air
Norway maple Harilik vaher Acer platanoides
Something seems to be missing in the pockets in autumn if no nice acorn or a chestnut conker is there. They stay there until the winter jacket comes on, and even on finding them in the pocket in spring one looks at the somewhat wrinkled fruit with tenderness – the hand-in-hand relation in the pocket was after all quite close for a while, and the ideas that were pondered on walks together – hands in pockets, acorn in hand...
We are children, or slightly grown-up children. Autumn maples have a particular charm: adorned in many-coloured leaves blazing in red, yellow, orange hues. A maple cannot be bypassed indifferently. At any time of the day or by street lights – in rain, sunshine, fog, in air that is maple yellow at times.
There are things to enjoy.
