The beautiful autumn has spoiled the passsing migrants with clement weather - warblers and thrushes have eaten the rowans nicely clean of the pomes. This year's rowanberry harvest was not particularly abundand but it seldom occurs that halfway into October only some solitary berries are seen on the trees, and the waxwings are yet to come.

A bare third is left of the rose hips, and Guelder rose berries won't remain on the shrubs for long either. Such are conditions on the birds' migration path at the north-western coast.
