Environmental act of the year will be decided by public voting

Announcement from the Ministry of the Environment
The Ministry of the Environment invites nominations for the Environmental Award of the Year.
This year, the act that has had the most positive impact on nature or the understanding of nature in Estonia will be determined by a public online voting.
Nominations can be made in two categories:
- The Environmental Award of the Year is open to all projects, events or campaigns with a significant impact in the field of environmental protection, information or awareness.
- The Environmental Award for Business is open to businesses in three sub-categories: environmental management, environmental product and/or service, and environmental process.
The total prize fund is almost 40 000 euros.
To submit a nomination, please send a filled-out questionnaire and a description to the Ministry of the Environment by e-mail to:
or by regular mail to Narva mnt 72, 15172, with the keyword “Environmental Award 2013”.
Interested persons can nominate themselves or other suitable candidates. The questionnaire is not required in the second case.

The nominations should be submitted by 4 December 2013 for the Environmental Award and by 10 January 2014 for the Environmental Award for Business.
The winners of the contest will be announced at the end of January.
