On Wednesday evening the boars in their winter coats started wallowing right in the middle of the feeding ground. On Thursday the depression was worn down to a quite noticeable furrow.

 

Animals sense that the weather won’t get cold yet, the peat soil dries quickly on the fur, and falls away taking along accumulated dirt and bugs. Rooting around and wallowing are agreeable pastimes for wild boars.
