For a day and a half the deer bull with the splendid antlers that has been visible in camera view was missing. Now what, there is not enough food in the forest yet ….

 

Well-known thing – joy shared, joy doubled. So it turned out on Friday evening when the stag visited the feeding ground together with an extremely cautious female deer (hind). Among ungulates deer are considered the most careful in checking the surroundings and the most prudently-behaved in the forest.

 

 

 

 The badger den must be quite close, unfortunately I haven’t been able to check the whole area yet during the occasions that I have been on Saaremaa.

 

Nice that the badger deigns to step by the camera almost every day. Unfortunately we know rather little about the doings of  badgers in cover of the darkness; even brief encounters give some insight in their life.
