Irma laid the first egg on March 3rd  this year and the chick hatched from it on June 9th, thus 37 days after the laying of the egg. Last year everything took place one week later but the incubation period was exactly the same length. In the other nests in Estonia and Latvia that we can observe by webcams the incubation time of the first egg has been 38 days. Thus the first chick of Irma-Ilmar can be said to be very precisely on time. The second and third chicks are usually faster than the first one (1-3 days). Elsewhere in the area the incubation time has been given as 32-42 days (average 38).
