The animated film ”Jäälind – Kingfisher” has been produced for the Estonian Ornithological Society to celebrate the Kingfisher Year, showing the adventures and difficulties of a young kingfisher at the start of independent life. Even though it is an artist’s humoristic vision the film still points at the interesting and important moments in a kingfisher’s life.

The film was made by Estonian artist and animator Chintis Lundgren, for whom this is already the third film on the theme bird of the year. The music was created by Henrik Malmgren, Croatian artist Draško Ivezić assisted in the editing.
