A few minutes before 6 o’clock on Sunday evening, when the daytime heat had began to recede a little, the younger osprey nestling gathered courage and went on its first flight in the air – in the nest ”dry runs” had already been practiced quite enough. For the night the now flying young ospreys should be in the nest again, shrill cries can be heard from the camera.

 

Male Ilmar has fed the family nicely – up to 8 fish per day; the food need is covered by a few hundred grams but growing youths have a hearty appetite … Of course the low water level in our waters helps at the fishing.
