White stork
Still there tomorrow? The quiet migration of white storks started a couple of weeks ago. A peacefully busy stork in its usual foraging ground can start its migration as you watch – so they leave, individually and somehow unnoticed, and soon they are all gone.
"The birds do not form large migrant flocks. Our white storks migrate across Turkey by way of Israel to Egypt and from there along the Nile to the southern tip of Africa for winter. The populations of West Europe use completely different migration paths and wintering areas: fly to Africa by way of Gibraltar, winter in West Africa, “ Margus Ots wrote in journal Eesti Loodus.
