Reader’s letter: How to catch a nut-eater on a photo?
Photos and story by Sandro Pihlak
Translation: Liis
Friends asked me to come as company for their “four-legged friend”. Already before going I had heard that a squirrel came to eat nuts on their balcony. I decided to bring along my camera.
Of course I had to make preparations to get good enough photos. Because the doings of the squirrel were behind glass an extra flashlight was needed: the flashlight I placed on a chair on the balcony. I put the nuts on the table after having cleaned them and the camera was in the room on its tripod. All that was left to do was to wait.
On the first day I didn’t manage to see the squirrel. On the second day I already saw it but the shy animal decided to flee. I managed to get a photo only on the third day.
