Puffballs
We have always had an outing in the forest around Father’s Day. True, it is November but we have been looking for mushrooms that would still do for food. In some year with a long warm autumn, we have even managed to find chanterelles. This year however the -10 degrees of cold swept the board clean – we could not see any edible mushroom at all. However, the puffballs that at a touch release their spores reminded of childhood. Some had even formed fairy rings.
