Thank you to all who participated in the venture! We hope that the first experiment with brown trout spawning under water held some interest for viewers too. The camera was working for a month and started after a few setbacks (we ”drowned” one camera). The weather turned so frosty that the equipment may no longer go on working properly and the ”aquarium” can break from the temperature difference – there are 5 degrees of warmth in the water and -15 on the bank …
The spawning period has come to an end in one way or another. The surface water cools down with the frost at sunrise and before midday we don’t see the trout; females digging spawning nests we have not noticed either. In view of our camera several tens of trout spawned during the month and some of them became familiar by face to permanent viewers.
In the coming year we plan new underwater views in HD quality – there is plenty of room for development.
