First snow

In early morning rain started to dribble down at Naissaare, changing within half an hour into sleet because the temperature started to fall quickly. At 11 o’clock the snow cover already reached a couple of centimetres. In northern Estonia there was already more than 5 centimetres in the evening but in case of a southerly low pressure area this is quite common. The stand at the moment is that the ”first snow” usually remains to cover the ground only for a few days but from a cursory look at the weather charts it seems that it will be at least for a week …

On land as well as at sea new snow-lit views opened.
