Hazel

 

In places the catkins of hazels are almost opening. A flowering mezereum is no rarity but a pleasure to find.

At the spring a common frog in silvery blue mating colours has arrived ...

 

In the sea sticklebacks have appeared in the shore shallows. I have not seen such a thing before the middle of April, now in various places on the north coast.

There is no ice either at the shore that would cool the shallow water on melting. Interesting how a sunny day helps to develop life in the shore sea. Eyes and ears must be kept open everywhere.

 

Skylarks, lapwings, starlings are seen ....

 

Birch sap flowing? No surprise when a beer bottle forgotten in the country house survived despite the few cold waves as in a regular fridge.
