The heat period of  the seals has ended, the gambolling that we see in the video is just socializing …

 

 

A great number of ”grays” lounge about in the rookery – the adults that gave birth have gone to restore their fat reserves, here we have mostly well fed young animals who spend time companionably.

 

It is still almost a month to the moulting; at  that time there will be seals en masse on the shore.
