The male arrives as the first at the nest with prey. The female stands guard somewhere nearby and arrives, loudly calling, to show that she is the one who knows how to care for the offspring properly.
Nobody prevents the female from feeding the smallest and youngest chick at right – all wait peacefully for their turn; it seems that the male still manages to provide the family with food. Mari and Mihkel’s children hatched on the 3rd, 4th and 7th of May. – the clutch is roughly two weeks old.
Soon the female will stop guarding the chicks in daytime so that the adults will manage to feed their growing young buzzards.
The chicks of Buzzard camera 2 are a week younger and spend most of the time under the females, dry and warm.
