Two days ago the white-tailed eagle chick was ringed. Because the nest is very visible from far off the adults may have been deterred by the disturbance – in any case they were not seen for two days. Fortunately the eaglet was not plagued by hunger during the two days, a fish was left in the nest and the young bird had to learn to eat on its own, but managed quite nicely.

 

When the male brought a fish to the nest at about five o’clock in the afternoon the eaglet was not screaming with hunger but it was surely good to see the parent. Hopefully we will soon see the female at the nest since the bond between the parent and the eaglet can become weaker by each day.
