The health status of wild boar is not good this year. From 1.01.2015 onwards, 4532 boars have been examined with regard to the African Swine Fever (ASF). In September samples from 1105 specimens were examined: infection was proved in 111 boars. Of the diseased animals 46 were from Põlva County, 12 from West Viru County and 11 from Tartu; from other areas fewer diseased boars were found.

 

During the year 535 specimens found dead have been examined; 496 of them yielded positive ASF samples.
