The night-time winds raised high waves; the wind had clearly  abated by morning but  waves still milled about in the shallows. The sea water level is no longer low, the water level has risen by half a metre during the last 5 days; water temperature in the Baltic is 9 degrees and air temperature slightly lower.

 

The salmonids who were waiting in the mouths of their spawning rivers should by now be heading into the rivers. Water has not yet collected into ditches from the rainfalls.

 

In the seal rookery someone sounded a false alarm, but part of the more experienced adults don’t let themselves be disturbed. They will spend a couple of days on the shore if they are left in peace. As reported this year grey seal hunting is permitted.
