Arne has met bullfinches near the feeder. The beautiful winter weather should last until the end of the week, and so we may see bullfinches at the feeder too.
Only the male has the red cheeks, breast and throat, the female’s breast and cheeks are rose-brown, back patterned in grey. Adult birds have a black crown, black wings with a broad white band, white gump area.
Worth noting – the head of juveniles isn’t black.
