Common toad.
The migration of frogs and toads from their wintering areas to the spawning grounds goes on all over Estonia. On roads crossing their migration paths thousands of frogs may die in a few hours
The Environmental Department, Keskkonnaamet, asks drivers to drive carefully and to reduce their speed on road sections with known high frog populations. Car drivers should be particularly watchful on warm, rainy days and near waters since the road-crossing paths of frogs are seldom wider than some twenty meters.
Frogs and toads that have been killed on the roads are used as food by predators and birds of prey (foxes, Falconiformes raptors and others). CAUTION!
