Frog spawn.
In ponds and peat-digging pits, flooded meadows and ditches a strange bubbly froth can be seen now. It is actually frog spawn. The female of the common frog (Rana temporaria) spawns several thousand eggs; the eggs can make up spawn fields with diameters of some metres. Usually several frogs leave their spawn in the same water body: frogs are true to a place. Be careful when the amphibians are on the move, unfortunately they tend to end up under car wheels when they cross roads.
