Waxwings are still here

Waxwings eat maple flowers.

Flocks of waxwings (Bombycilla garrulus) can still be seen and heard here and there in Estonia, and even snow buntings who haven’t yet moved to their nesting areas further north may be encountered. The birds are waiting for the right moment, when full spring has arrived in the north, and “meat”, or invertebrates, vital for feeding their young, are around.
