Grey-headed woodpecker.
There are few birds whose song can be learnt from a written description, but one of those might be the grey-headed woodpecker (Picus canus), whose song is a descending, sometimes chromatic, sequence of notes. The notes go downwards but that does not mean that the bird is feeling down, rather the opposite, because in the nesting period its call is heard, powerfully and over long distances. Of course it can also make a drumming sound, as any woodpecker should.
