Flowers in a wood - greater stitchwort

Greater stitchwort.

In a broad-leaf or spruce woodland with enough light you may find the greater stitchwort (Stellaria holostea), often growing in big groups. The petals of the flower are slit up to the centre, and remind somewhat of a carnation. And the plant also belongs to the carnation family. The leaves are stiff, and the stems easily broken, so it isn’t very well suited for a vase.
