Bird's-nest orchid Neottia nidus-avis.
The third star actor of the orchid week is the bird’s-net orchid. A strange member of the beautiful orchid family, somehow like a poor Cinderella in the backyard of the King’s palace. Finding it is not difficult, it only needs some experience and luck in coming across it. It is a shadow-loving little plant that is nearly without any chlorophyll. It likes to grow in broad-leaf forests, ash grooves, and often in young, dense spruce woods with poor light, where I have found it most frequently. In my opinion there are no ugly flowers or plants, each of them have their own beauty. When studied closely, and when sunlight unexpectedly finds it, the yellowish-brown flowers of the bird’s-nest orchid have a golden shimmer. The stems of some plants seem to burst with vitality.
