Looking for the midsummer glow-worm

Glow-worm fire.

There is a definite reason why the glow-worm (Lampyris noctiluca) glows. It is the female beetles that glow, and by their lights show where they are, so enticing the males to them. The females don’t have wings, but the males have. Thanks to the glowing light the males see where they should fly.
And we see where the midsummer miracle hides itself
