Common rockrose and black medick.
The black medick (Medicago lupulina) with its yellow flowerheads can be confused with the large trefoil (Trifolium aureum), looking at coloured plates in floras, but the black medick can be recognised with certainty towards the end of summer when we can see its seed pods; the trefoil has no pods.
