Selfheal.
In tall grass the selfheal (Prunella vulgaris) grows as tall as the other plants, but in short, mowed lawn grass it may stay as a low 5 centimetres high plant, lending colour and prettiness to the grass with its patches of violet. If it grows in tall grass the flower spike will be like a spruce cone (as in the photo), in short grass more like a stumpy fir cone.
Note: Estonian name “käbihein” literally means “cone-grass".
