Barn swallows, Ihamaa water meadow, Alam-Pedja.
 
Our national birds, the barn swallows (Hirundo rustica), are gradually starting to gather in the reedbeds, to fatten themselves properly on insects before the autumn migration. In the reedbeds it is pleasant to rest overnight too. At sunset towards the end of summer all is filled with twittering and there may be thousands of swallows. Already now the gathering is slowly beginning.
