The weather has been quite windy the last few days. Watching our camera picture on a large screen can bring on seasickness…
Sunday morning Padis gave the chicks their first experience alone in the nest when he went to bring nest materials.
The chicks are well fed, and they don't even seem to notice when the parents change shifts in the nest. They have not yet realized that the arrival of a parent means getting a stomach full of food. After a couple of weeks, Donna and Padis will be in for a much noisier greeting when they return to the nest!
Donna brings more frogs, and Padis seems to favor fish. In addition, we've seen salamanders and brook lampreys (acquatic creatures resembling worms).
