Green lacewing on tansy flower.
The lacewings (of the Chrysopidae family) with bodies as slight as air can be met in the evenings as they fly around. These beautiful fairy-like and golden-eyed insects feed on nectar and pollen. But their larvae are real predators, devouring great numbers of slow-moving insects like aphids. So for a gardener the lacewings are very useful creatures.
