The chicks grow noticeably

Yesterday at midday it was apparent that Donna was not going to warm the chicks in her usual fashion. She positioned herself on the edge of the nest and the chicks occupied a sunny spot in the middle.
Shift changes in the nest happen now quite frequently. Is food easy to find at the moment, or do the parents simply want the chicks large enough that they won't be fare for the raven? When the chicks are big enough, both parents will then be able to hunt. In all cases, the chicks were quite angry about a piece of moss which encroached upon their territory (albeit brought into the nest in the beak of Padis). The intruding moss received a series of painful beak stabs from the chicks.
