Migrating flock of cranes.
The long, warm autumn is near its end, and the winds are good for migration too. Alvar Leito says that most information has been collected from the migration gatherings of the cranes.
In Matsalu there were 15 900, in Lahemaa 6000, on Hiiumaa 3400, in Tootsi 780, Meelva 500, Meenikunno 450, Tali 420, Nehtu 250, Parika 150, Mustakurmu (Akste) 30. Altogether about 28 000 cranes. Information from Saaremaa-Muhu has not been compiled yet. And now the cranes are leaving.
