Gulls at ploughing.
In addition to the migrating geese, gulls that circle in large flocks behind the tractor catch the eye in the fields at ploughing time in autumn. The vehicle ploughs up animal matter to eat – earthworms and other invertebrates – the dinner table is set. When storms „plough up” fish at sea the gulls behave quite as in the fields. There too the dinner table is set for them. At the seashore the flying gulls seem heroic: regardless of storm and hail, almost standing still in the air in contrary winds, they won’t let themselves be distracted from their goal.
