Fieldfares won’t fly southwards as long as there is food on the table, sometimes even the first snow doesn’t help the leaving. A gardener's scare, the fieldfare loves berries in summer too. They are large thrushes; both sexes look similar, with bluish-grey head and a brown back, and yellowish breast with lengthwise black stripes. The autumn flocks count some hundred birds. If the winter is mild many stay for the winter in North and West Estonia.
