Fresh snow – easy to read track book

It can be worthwhile to go out looking for tracks in the weekend: fresh snow is the best book for tracks in the cold period. Photos in the track guidebooks are mostly photographed in snowy landscapes. When the snow cover has become thick, or frozen to a hard crust, it is much more difficult to find and learn to know the tracks. In a thin snow cover the shape of the deer’s spread-out cloven hooves shows clearly, later there are just small holes in the snow. For studying tracks a nice guide is the ABC book of tracks, “Kes oli siin? (Who was here?)” published by Tänapäev. The tracks are printed life size in the book, and there are movement patterns as well.
