"Estonian fish" – in Estonian Museum of Natural History
Translation: Liis
Photographer and zoologist Tiit Hunt at Estonian Museum of Natural History, Eesti Loodusmuuseum, has photographed nearly all species of fish in Estonian waters over the years. The results of this work are unique photos of nearly sixty fish species. In the exhibition there are fish that are common in our waters but also interesting species that we almost never meet.
It is worth noting that this is not only nature photography – in addition to fascinating patterns, colours and expressions the fish in the photos clearly show their species characteristics; the exhibited photos are part of a larger project describing aquatic life in Estonian waters.
In the “netting shed” in the museum's courtyard different devices for catching fish can be studied.
The Museum of Natural History, at Lai 29A in Tallinn, is open Wednesday to Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm.
