Snowberry.
Against a background of bare branches a decorative plant shows up: snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus). It isn’t a native bush but it is so widely spread in our cities and in old parks that everyone knows it. Just now its large, delicious-looking berries particularly catch the eye. But they mustn’t be eaten, they are poisonous. As children we used to pick a handful and slip them under our boots – the berries make a special crunching sound.
